The second-hand shopping app has revised its sizing categories for women's and children's clothes without notifying every member regarding the update. Social Media Reaction Numerous buyers and vendors are expressing on platforms stating that platform listings now display an altered size classification compared to what was initially listed because of the remapping. The platform stated the updated approach better aligns with comparable marketplaces. It has advised users to review their products and update the measurements by hand when needed, causing user dissatisfaction. Size Classification Changes Earlier, the sizing featured a single numeric size and a letter, such as S/8 or M/10. The updated approach includes a letter and a range such as S/UK 8-10. For certain items, the size labels have been reassigned - for example a size L used to be a 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18. User Stories Frankie Bridger, who creates plus-size fashion videos, explained the modification "makes transactions more difficult". "Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," as the platform currently indicates. Another user, located in Scotland, stated items she posted with size 14 tags were showing in the marketplace as size 20–22. "Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they may become frustrated," she said. Manual Updates Another shopper, from Derby, said she had been left angered by the change as she had to manually change the sizing for "all her products". "This situation is especially annoying, because of my ongoing medical condition and selling on Vinted has been paramount for me since losing part of my income," she stated. Service Background The app has more than 100 million users, comprising 18 million UK members. It has emerged as a preferred choice compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop. This is not the initial instance when a surprising modification to the app has proved unpopular: last year, the platform withdrew an update concerning shipment methods due to shopper criticism.
