It's tough for Australia to break new ground.

The top summits have been successfully scaled.

We're talking about the team that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, plus an additional six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed 1,294 days unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, the ones sought by the record chasers, are what's still available for a squad that has accomplished all there is.

It needed as late as Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase over 300, taking back their record for the biggest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, honestly, a compliment to the bowlers that have worn canary yellow over the last half-century.

It's challenging for their hitters to hold a record if not afforded the opportunity.

Ultimately, the outcome of Australia allowing 330 runs was captain Alyssa Healy getting a chance to deliver her most recent brilliance.

Success in the T20 World Cup came three months after her debut and seven global championships have followed from 10 efforts across formats.

That loss "motivated us to reconsider our benchmarks," Healy stated recently.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the championship match and was declared player of the series. She guaranteed her country would not come up short.

If this recent magnificent innings exceeded that prior achievement is debatable.

Many contend the reasoning behind final game tension. Some might respond with the difficulty that comes when confronting a historic chase and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What's definite is this century was far harder to predict.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 came as she topped the run-scoring charts, but this knock came after six matches in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"If you've observed me in practice sessions, it has been a frustrating experience because I feel like I've had no rhythm at all," commented Healy.

"However when you take the field, your fighting spirit activate and you completely engage with the competition."

Healy's fighting spirit has continuously been her key asset - and an invaluable trait in replacing legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, out to the 22-year-old seamer in each encounter, but this time it merely gave Healy's spark.

"An opportunity to play and face the challenge with her and simply enjoy myself in that regard, kind of motivated me," commented Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 deliveries - her quickest at a World Cup - and her hundred in 84 deliveries while she attacked short-pitched balls, scoring 21 fours and three maximums.

When she was out the team needed 66 more at one run per ball - an achievable target now needing a comfortable finish.

"Pursuing 330 is unfamiliar ground so I am glad we have the confidence to accomplish that now," stated Healy further.

"Ideally we won't need to do it again but, if we do, we believe we can achieve it."

These statements will be the last competing nations at this championship want to hear.

During the last week a sense they will win from any position has only strengthened - this success coming after victory over Pakistan by 107-run victory despite being 76-7 at one stage.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before an encounter with traditional opponents England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final berth may well be secure.

During that phase they were eliminated from the prior year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - an encounter Healy missed because of damaged tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the initial instance at a significant event.
