Hazbin Hotel's Showrunner Is Aware of Your Second Season Predictions — And She Has Good News

The highly-awaited second season of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel debuts on the streaming platform this week, and fan speculation has been intense.

Season 1 introduces a diverse group of personalities living within the afterlife, pits them against each other accompanied by songs about their clashes, and establishes tense rivalries and angsty, affectionate connections that fuel audience devotion.

The fandom's stated hopes for the new season differ greatly, but certain threads recur frequently: Could Angel Dust escape his tormentor? Will we find out more about the binding agreement affecting the enigmatic Alastor? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Obviously, I don't make the show with audience demands as the main goal," the showrunner commented recently. "However I believe that me being a devotee of the series means there's a lot of it just inherently. I also am eager for these things, and I want some of these things to happen, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She reveals her big-picture plan is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have already been green-lit by the production companies, which finance the series.

That could imply fans have to be patient for some of the biggest payoffs — but they could be shocked at how fast the new season moves, and how many of what they're waiting for unfolds now.

"I believe people are going to get a lot out of it," she adds. "We get some firsts. I think we get some incredible disclosures, some fascinating origin tales, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience additional musical numbers from the previously silent cast members."

The creator is well-informed of the theories and desires about season 2 — especially in the form of audience prediction charts.

"I've come across a few fans make a bingo card about the new season," she mentions. "Naturally I won't share it, but I've actually done some of them, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season launches on the streaming service on October 29.
