Nineteen of the Russian's 21 titles have been achieved on hard courts

A resurgent Medvedev won his initial title for over two years with a win over Corentin Moutet in the tournament title decider.

Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a difficult season, achieving just a single victory at the big events and suffering a meltdown at the New York tournament.

The player's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his service game in particular - caused him exiting of the top ten and finally splitting with former trainer Cervara.

Presently collaborating with his coach and Goetzke, he has gradually advanced in the recent weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought competitive triumph over challenger Corentin Moutet.

This marks Medvedev's first trophy following the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard surface from that period of that year.

Victory also means the Russian has won 21 victories at twenty-one distinct competitions.

"For the first time I am participating in a tournament with my both daughters at once, so to secure a title is especially meaningful," stated tennis professional Medvedev.

"This title is in dedication of my younger daughter her name, because the first title I achieved when my child her name was born was for her."

The tennis star, the past champion, had lost his last six championship matches, including in Halle in the past months.

The player's retrieving approach and recurring emotional displays on the playing surface had caused some to wonder if his capacity to play at the highest level was finished.

Yet the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, striving to approach the net and play positively, supported by an improved serving game.

He came back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the challenging Frenchman, securing 4 of the last five exchanges to go ahead.

Both players traded break points in the second set before the challenger, striving for his initial ATP Tour title, gained dominance to force a third set.

Moutet saved four early-game chances in a tight third set before Medvedev won the break to 15 to close out the victory.

Suitably, the winner secured victory with a shot at the net, with his opponent unable to manage a volley after over two and a half hours.
